Green Skies Aviation Hub

LCCI’s Aviation ‘Green Skies’ Programme explores London’s aviation landscape and how it can become better prepared to meet the challenges of today for the needs of tomorrow and showcases why it is so vital that aviation becomes sustainable, given its importance to the UK economy.

The significance of aviation to London's economy is too important to ignore. Polling by LCCI and Savanta highlighted that 83% of London businesses agree that air connectivity is important to London's global competitiveness. Therefore the aviation sector must continue to grow whilst also moving towards a greener future as businesses transition to net zero.

Green Skies: Supporting the aviation sector to decarbonise

LCCI's report provides an insight into the efforts being made to decarbonise the sector, and the steps needed to further accelerate thetransition to a more sustainable aviation industry. Research has shown that there are many steps businesses are already taking to lower their emissions and reduce their carbon impact. The aviation industry is no different.

LCCI supports London City Airport’s application

London City Airport is a critical component of ‘Global London’, providing transport in and out of the city. Increasing the number of passengers who can fly in and out of London presents the opportunity to boost the capital’s tourism, productivity, growth and investments, as well as strengthen the ties between businesses across Newham and other parts of Europe.
